The UC&SV Route serves Three Central New York counties : Oneida, Herkimer and Otsego.

Beginning in the Town of Bridgewater at milepost 275.64 the route traverses south through southern Oneida county to the Village of Bridgewater where the line turns eastward.

Passing through the Village the line now travels in a generally easterly direction entering Otsego County through the Town of Plainfield, the line continues eastward and enters Herkimer County and the town of Winfield to the Village of West Winfield.

After passing through the Village the line continues through Winfield, crosses State Highway 20 to East Winfield and enters the Town of Columbia, and onto the assault to “Richfield Hill”. After reaching the summit of the Hill the line heads east through Columbia past Unadilla Lake and through the great cedar swamp.

After passing through the swamp, the line heads south passing through South Columbia, after passing through South Columbia, the line reenters Otsego County through the Town of Richfield to the end of our line in the Town at milepost 294.16. Beyond this milepost to the Village of Richfield Springs the line is owned by the Otsego County Industrial Development Authority to the Elm Street Extension. The yard property in the Village is owned by the Central New York Railroad Corporation where the branch ends at Lake Street.
